# Is there a cheaper way to buy matchday tickets if I cannot commit to a season ticket?

Topic: Ticketing and Pricing

Two options exist because of supporter feedback through the FAB. The club's £20 membership scheme gives £2 off every home league matchday ticket, along with other benefits ([minutes of 4 August 2026](https://images.gc.barnsleyfcservices.co.uk/a65debd0-ac45-11f1-a0bc-9359ad8c111a.pdf)). And the flexi ticket, introduced after the FAB asked about it, lets supporters buy a block of games rather than the full season ([minutes of 15 April 2025](https://images.gc.barnsleyfcservices.co.uk/b390dcb0-3570-11f0-a020-bd0d915a582a.pdf)).

Some ideas have been looked at and rejected. A Saturday-only season ticket was raised in [October 2024](https://images.gc.barnsleyfcservices.co.uk/ae23dfa0-b7cd-11ef-a942-355e2000fd42.pdf); the club explained it does not work, citing other clubs' unsuccessful attempts, and pointed to flexi tickets instead. A permanently reduced family ticket was raised in [March 2025](https://images.gc.barnsleyfcservices.co.uk/9b135860-2a72-11f0-b316-3d917fca0cba.pdf) and the club agreed to look into it. On season tickets, the club introduced a renewal price during the early-bird period for anyone who had held a season ticket in the previous three years, and 4-month and 10-month direct debit options with the club funding the fees on the 4-month plan ([minutes of 29 February 2024](https://images.gc.barnsleyfcservices.co.uk/574423e0-9d2c-11ef-a0c6-05831d4f85bb.pdf)). Season ticket sales for 2026/27 were ahead of the previous year despite a price increase ([minutes of 9 June 2026](https://images.gc.barnsleyfcservices.co.uk/9c954720-68c9-11f1-934b-7d122e37eeff.pdf)).
