Minutes of the September meeting published
The minutes of the Fan Advisory Board meeting held on Tuesday 8 September 2026 are now published. You can read them on our Minutes page or on the official club website.
After the delay with the August minutes, this set was approved and published on Monday 14 September, six days after the meeting. As promised, the minutes now carry the approval and publication dates at the bottom, and the meeting was held fully as a video call so the record is a cleaner one.
What was discussed
- Thanks for the transfer window. The board passed on supporters' appreciation for the club's work over the summer window, which Jon Flatman will share with everyone involved.
- Sanitary products. The club has agreed to resume stocking sanitary products in the ladies' toilets and they will be in place for the Leicester City fixture.
- The big screen. A screen the full width of the current one and adjacent advertising boards, at double the height, has been quoted at £55,000. Replay capability would be separate. The club would need to contribute alongside any fan or third-party funding, and the CEO described it as a potential signature project for the FAB. The Supporters' Trust is still considering whether to help fund it; Pete Harrison is getting comparison quotes through his industry contacts.
- Academy funding. The club spends around £1.51 million a year of its own money running the Category 2 Academy, and this season a third of first-team minutes have gone to Academy players. The club will produce a shortlist of specific Academy projects, such as transport, kit and nutrition, that fans could support. A separate meeting will be arranged to weigh the screen and the Academy as fundraising priorities.
- Lighting around the ground. New floodlights meet Championship broadcast standards and cut light pollution. Dark areas outside the West Stand are down to Grove Street's street lights being off during housing works; the club is installing about £10,000 of extra lighting around the West and East Stands. The old floodlight towers should come down by summer 2027.
- Council capital works. The same grant has paid for a new fire alarm system, the refurbished ticket office and club offices, a full survey of the stadium's pipework and drainage, new fire doors and replacement boilers and wiring. The club will ask the council whether a summary can be published for supporters.
- PA system. Commentary has been hard to hear in parts of the ground since a new operator took over. The club is investigating whether it is equipment or technique, and supporters reported a clear improvement at Saturday's game.
- 2027 anniversary. Plans are forming around the Stockport home game on 24 April 2027, with former players from the promotion squad invited, a commemorative programme, and an informal evening at the Metrodome with a screening of Daydream Believers. A FAB working group is feeding ideas to the club.
- Car parking. Road closures are under review with the council as part of wider vehicle-mitigation work, so no changes to exit arrangements for now. The Ozone will not be reinstated; the club has other plans for the space to be announced. Instead the FAB will look at using the covered lower East Stand concourse as a fan zone.
- Travel kit. Fanatics will now stock the grey travel kit and it is expected in the club shop imminently.
- Meeting frequency. After a mixed discussion, the FAB will meet every six weeks rather than monthly, with dates circulated in advance and Thursdays preferred.
Also covered: Auracast audio for hearing-impaired supporters (a supplier session is booked for 17 September), headset returns, Plymouth Argyle's disabled ticket pricing, pre-match music, and filling the two vacant FAB seats.
